An Olympic Afternoon

The fourth was with us as the debut of the Organic Youth Olympics went down at our “host nation” of Town Line Lutheran Church in Alden on May 4!

As with the actual Olympic movement, ours also started modestly-sized with 45 participants, but it was an awesome afternoon of Olympic competition which featured:

  • Athletic games including basketball bank shooting, an actual biathlon with running and “shooting” Frisbees at a target, and kickball
  • Artistic expression with sidewalk chalk, which “nations” were given to create a themed work based on the question “if you could create your own actual nation, what would it look like?”
  • Other games requiring no skill whatsoever.  These were “minute to win it” type games of various types and insanity
  • Devotions led by our Organic Youth Leadership Team

We give thanks to Town Line in Alden for hosting, and all of the “nations” who came and participated at what turned out to be a great “Olympic” afternoon!

Of course, here’s the pictures from the event…
