Elementary Christmas Fun and Faith

12 youth and a whole host of senior high and adult leaders and staff…mix in Christmas, some great games, snacks, a service project and devotions…and what do you get?  The 1st-5th Grade Christmas Party, which was graciously hosted by St. John Lutheran Church, Williamsville on December 13!

Participants got a chance to have some crazy fun with our more popular games, only “Christmas-fied”, meaning we put a holiday spin on them.  We also did a Christmas version of “Minute to Win It”!

Snacks were had (frosted Christmas cookies and cocoa), and we then moved on to creating Christmas cards of hope that were then added to Christmas personal care gifts the next week at Organic Youth’s Christmas Care Night.

Devotions were done in the dark in the sanctuary, where the only light (aside from the daylight outside) was LED candles and the Advent wreath lit.  Our theme if you guessed was centered on the light Jesus represented coming into the world.  And that same light shining in us to be a light for others.  Participants then got to take home one of the LED candles to remind them of that light.

All in all a great afternoon of great Christmas fun and faith!
