Organic Youth Programs & Events

This event is sponsored by Organic Youth and LCLC, designed for adult volunteers and paid youth leaders with any level of youth ministry experience. Saturday morning, we will begin our day with a presentation from Abigail Sandonato, an Addictions Consultant and Young Adult Specialist. She will guide us through all of the “Whys.”
– Why do teenagers think and behave the way they do?
– Why do youth have a tendency to engage in risky behavior?
– Why do we have to understand the developmental stages of our youth?
Abigail has eight years of experience working as an addictions counselor. Throughout her career she has dedicated herself to working with young adults and families enrolled in addictions treatment. Abigail began her work with young adults in response to the opiate epidemic, which drastically changed the landscape of addictions field by introducing an influx of young adults into treatment centers. In response, Abigail has devoted her time to researching and developing clinical programming to meet the demands of this emerging and dynamic population.
In an effort to improve young adult treatment engagement and outcomes Abigail developed and facilitated both local and state-wide training initiatives sharing her insights, knowledge, and evidenced based clinical programming for young adults. Knowledge, passion, and commitment to the field of addictions and the young adult population define Abigail’s clinical career.
